Equilibrio is a letter opener inspired by the motion and stance of a bird resting within the branches of a wind-swept tree. Its upright resting display and wobbling motion is designed to reflect this moment of a bird as it sways and remains strong in its stance.

Beginning with a small tapered beak it widens out to form the body and closed wings. This form becomes the heavy ended pivot point and is ergonomically shaped to rest in multiple ways within the hand. The body then tapers down again, forming a long thin tail and cutting blade, whose tip projects into the air to be displayed while at rest, rocking when handled.
